Connecting local people with local food year-round!
Our Ottawa Roots
Ottawa Organics began in 2007 with a dozen customers, a handful of local farms, and one employee. A decade later, we have grown to provide hundreds of weekly customers with products from over 20 local producers with a hard working team of nine employees.
Owner and Founder Matt Dudley
You may recognize him as the veggie man on our delivery vehicle! A member of a family of entrepreneurs, Matt started his own record label to support local musicians. After working with musicians at a grassroots level, Matt founded Ottawa Organics to work with farmers at a grassroots level and to give local organic produce a wider audience in Ottawa.
The Rest of the Bunch
Produce Delivery Drivers: Jim, Geoff, Marisa and Andy are the friendly faces that you may spot dropping off your baskets around Ottawa. They also deliver from Dunrobin to Manotick to Chelsea and Cumberland, no matter what weather the Ottawa Valley throws at them.
Office Administration: Have questions about the red kale or purple carrots in your basket delivery or are away for a week? Jane will take a break from her own garden to answer all of your inquiries about your deliveries.
Vegetable Slingers: Jen, Hilary and Marisa pack your customized fruit and vegetable baskets. They are vegetable inspectors and admirers and occasional act as fruit taste testers to make sure that you get the best possible produce.
To connect Ottawa residents with food that is local, organic, and vegetarian and to provide organic produce year round.
To reduce our impact on the environment. Not only is our organic produce easy on the earth, our delivery service is too! We minimize packaging by delivering your baskets in recycled cardboard boxes and reusable totes, return containers to farmers to re-use again and again, and offer products such as milk and yogurt in glass containers. And we support clean energy by being 100% bullfrog powered.
